History Living

It has always been a privilege to live in the Tiergarten. Where today you find the Diplomatenpark once famous Berlin characters such as Bauhaus-founder Walter Gropius, author Theodor Fontane and the Brothers Grimm resided here. However, this exclusive area is not only special due to its prominent people. Unlike any other place in Europe it is replete with epochal importance. Not a single street corner that has not born witness to historic events. Every (paving / cobble) stone could tell stories where elsewhere a memorial would be erected.

Even though Berlin may prefer to look towards the future - follow the footsteps of history in your new home.

Reichstag

The Reichstag reflects the turbulences of Germany seen since the 19th century. Here, in 1918 the Republik was proclaimed. In 1933 the fire at the Reichstag was justification enough for the Nazis to prosecute members of the communist party. Since 1999 it has been used as parliament building by the German government.

Zeughaus

One of Berlin's oldest and most important large-scale baroque-style buildings from the year 1706. This former armoury is now home to the Deutsche Historische Museum.

Brandenburger Tor

The only remaining city gate and best known landmark of Berlin. In 1794 it was crowned with the Quadriga at the top. During the division of Germany it was part of the No-man's-land.
